Chardonnay under the southern sun: an equation many have got wrong, compensating for the heat with oak and over-extraction. At Périnade, we made the opposite choice — and Les Frenchies Chardonnay 2024 is the result.

A Languedoc Chardonnay, Not a Burgundy Imitation

Chardonnay is a global grape variety. It knows how to adapt, to take on the character of its terroir. In Pézens, it produces juices that are both generous and taut, with a natural acidity that, well preserved in the cellar, gives the wine its backbone. The 2024 harvest took place early in the morning to capture the night's coolness — a detail that makes all the difference.

No oak, no partial malolactic fermentation to mask the fruit: the winemaking is carried out entirely in stainless steel tanks, with regular lees stirring to add roundness and texture without weight. The result is a white wine with a nose of pear, citrus and white flowers, with a fresh and slightly saline finish.

Pairings and Service

Les Frenchies Chardonnay 2024 is best enjoyed between 10 and 12 °C, in a wide white wine glass to let the aromas unfold. It is ideal with seafood, fish in a creamy sauce, or simply as an aperitif with olives and local tapenade.

Its natural freshness makes it a wine of the moment — open it now, share it without delay. A white wine of the Midi that makes no attempt to imitate Chablis, but fully embraces its Languedoc identity.
